Moses Blesses the People

They follow in his steps and accept his teaching.H637H2245H5971H6918H3027H8497H7272H5375H17034Moses gave us the LORD's instruction, the special possession of the people of Israelc.H4872H6680H8451H4181H6952H32905The LORD became king in Israelc—when the leaders of the people assembled, when the tribes of Israel gathered as one."H4428H3484H7218H5971H7626H3478H622H31626Moses said this about the tribe of Reuben.c "Let the tribe of Reuben live and not die out, though they are few in number."H7205H2421H4191H4962H45577Moses said this about the tribe of Judah: "O LORD, hear the cry of Judah and bring them together as a people. Give them strength to defend their cause; help them against their enemies!"H3063H559H8085H3068H6963H3063H935H5971H3027H7227H5828H68628Moses said this about the tribe of Levi: "O LORD, you have given your Thummim and Urim—the sacred lots—to your faithful servants the Levitesc. You put them to the test at Massah and struggled with them at the waters of Meribah.H3878H559H8550H224H2623H376H5254H4532H7378H4325H48099The Levites obeyed your word and guarded your covenant. They were more loyal to you than to their own parents. They ignored their relatives and did not acknowledge their own children.H559H1H517H7200H5234H251H3045H1121H8104H565H5341H128510They teach your regulations to Jacob; they give your instructions to Israel. They present incense before you and offer whole burnt offerings on the altar.H3384H3290H4941H3478H8451H7760H6988H639H3632H419611Bless the ministry of the Levites, O LORD, and accept all the work of their hands. Hit their enemies where it hurts the most; strike down their foes so they never rise again."H1288H3068H2428H7521H6467H3027H4272H4975H6965H8130H6965H4480H696512Moses said this about the tribe of Benjamin: "The people of Benjamin are loved by the LORD and live in safety beside him. He surrounds them continuously and preserves them from every harm."H1144H559H3039H3068H7931H983H2653H3117H7931H380213Moses said this about the tribes of Joseph: "May their land be blessed by the LORD with the precious gift of dew from the heavens and water from beneath the earth;H3130H559H1288H3068H776H4022H8064H2919H8415H725714with the rich fruit that grows in the sun, and the rich harvest produced each month;H4022H8393H8121H4022H1645H339115with the finest crops of the ancient mountains, and the abundance from the everlasting hills;H7218H6924H2042H4022H5769H138916with the best gifts of the earth and its bounty, and the favor of the one who appeared in the burning bush. May these blessings rest on Joseph's head, crowning the brow of the prince among his brothers.H4022H776H4393H7522H7931H5572H935H7218H3130H6936H5139H25117Joseph has the majesty of a young bull; he has the horns of a wild ox. He will gore distant nations, driving them to the ends of the earth. This is my blessing for the multitudes of Ephraim and the thousands of Manasseh."H1926H1060H7794H7161H7161H7214H5055H5971H3162H657H776H7233H669H505H451918Moses said this about the tribes of Zebulun and Issacharc: "May the people of Zebulun prosper in their travels. May the people of Issachar prosper at home in their tents.H2074H559H8055H2074H3318H3485H16819They summon the people to the mountain to offer proper sacrifices there. They benefit from the riches of the sea and the hidden treasures in the sand."H7121H5971H2022H2076H2077H6664H3243H8228H3220H8226H2934H234420Moses said this about the tribe of Gad: "Blessed is the one who enlarges Gad's territory! Gad is poised there like a lion to tear off an arm or a head.H1410H559H1288H7337H1410H7931H3833H2963H2220H637H693621The people of Gad took the best land for themselves; a leader's share was assigned to them. When the leaders of the people were assembled, they carried out the LORD's justice and obeyed his regulations for Israel."H7200H7225H2513H2710H5603H857H7218H5971H6213H6666H3068H4941H347822Moses said this about the tribe of Dan: "Dan is a lion's cub, leaping out from Bashan."H1835H559H1835H738H1482H2187H131623Moses said this about the tribe of Naphtali: "O Naphtali, you are rich in favor and full of the LORD's blessings; may you possess the west and the south."H5321H559H5321H7649H7522H4392H1293H3068H3423H3220H186424Moses said this about the tribe of Asher: "May Asher be blessed above other sons; may he be esteemed by his brothers; may he bathe his feet in olive oil.H836H559H836H1288H1121H7521H251H2881H7272H808125May the bolts of your gates be of iron and bronze; may you be secure all your days."H4515H1270H5178H3117H167926"There is no one like the God of Israelc. He rides across the heavens to help you, across the skies in majestic splendor.H410H3484H7392H8064H5828H1346H783427The eternal God is your refuge, and his everlasting arms are under you. He drives out the enemy before you; he cries out, 'Destroy them!'H6924H430H4585H5769H2220H1644H341H6440H559H804528So Israel will live in safety, prosperous Jacob in security, in a land of grain and new wine, while the heavens drop down dew.H3478H7931H983H910H5869H3290H776H1715H8492H8064H6201H291929How blessed you are, O Israel! Who else is like you, a people saved by the LORD? He is your protecting shield and your triumphant sword! Deuteronomy 34

The Death of Moses

34Then Moses went up to Mount Nebo from the plains of Moab and climbed Pisgah Peak, which is across from Jericho. And the LORD showed him the whole land, from Gilead as far as Dan;H4872H5927H6160H4124H2022H5015H7218H6449H6440H3405H3068H7200H776H1568H18352all the land of Naphtali; the land of Ephraim and Manasseh; all the land of Judah, extending to the Mediterranean Seac;H5321H776H669H4519H776H3063H314H32203the Negev; the Jordan Valley with Jericho—the city of palms—as far as Zoar.H5045H3603H1237H3405H5892H8558H5899H68204Then the LORD said to Moses, "This is the land I promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob when I said, 'I will give it to your descendants.' I have now allowed you to see it with your own eyes, but you will not enter the land."H3068H559H776H7650H85H3327H3290H559H5414H2233H7200H5869H56745So Moses, the servant of the LORD, died there in the land of Moab, just as the LORD had said.H4872H5650H3068H4191H776H4124H6310H30686The LORD buried himc in a valley near Beth-peor in Moab, but to this day no one knows the exact place.H6912H1516H776H4124H4136H1047H376H3045H6900H31177Moses was 120 years old when he died, yet his eyesight was clear, and he was as strong as ever.H4872H3967H6242H8141H1121H4194H5869H3543H3893H51278The people of Israel mourned for Moses on the plains of Moab for thirty days, until the customary period of mourning was over.H1121H3478H1058H4872H6160H4124H7970H3117H3117H1065H60H4872H85529Now Joshua son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands on him. So the people of Israel obeyed him, doing just as the LORD had commanded Moses.H3091H1121H5126H4392H7307H2451H4872H5564H3027H1121H3478H8085H6213H3068H6680H487210There has never been another prophet in Israel like Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face.H6965H5030H5750H3478H4872H3068H3045H6440H644011The LORD sent him to perform all the miraculous signs and wonders in the land of Egypt against Pharaoh, and all his servants, and his entire land.H226H4159H3068H7971H6213H776H4714H6547H5650H77612With mighty power, Moses performed terrifying acts in the sight of all Israel.H2389H3027H1419H4172H4872H6213H5869H3478
