105:24-38 He Brought Them out of Egypt by the Hand of Moses. The next section recounts events from the book of Exodus, focusing on how God used Moses to lead the people out of Egypt, in keeping with his promises (cf. Gen. 15:13-16). On the eight plagues described here (Ps. 105:28-36), see the note on Psalm 105.

105:29 waters into blood. The first plague (Ex. 7:20-21).

105:30 frogs. The second plague (Ex. 8:1-6).

105:34-35 locusts. The eighth plague (Ex. 10:12-15).

105:36 the firstborn. The tenth and climactic plague (Ex. 12:29-30). Cf. also Ps. 78:51. For the "firstborn" as the firstfruits of all their strength, see Gen. 49:3 and Deut. 21:17.

105:37 silver and gold. The plundering of the Egyptians (Ex. 12:35-36).

105:38 Egypt was glad. Ex. 12:33. dread of them. Ex. 15:17.
