UPHAZ

(Heb. ʾûpāz)

A place known for its gold (Jer. 10:9; Dan. 10:5). Some interpreters read Uphaz as Ophir (following Peshiṭta, Targ., and some Hebrew manuscripts), a well-known source for gold (cf. 1 Kgs. 9:28). Others emend the text to read Heb. mûpāz, “refined, pure” (following LXX).

Prayer Tents is a Christian mission organization that serves Christians around the world and their local bodies to make disciples ("evangelize") more effectively in their communities.
