Be a Disciple, and Make Disciples - Prayer Tents
What is a Small Group?
Small groups are how Christians grow in discipleship. Just as Jesus walked and lived with his small group of disciples, it is a way of sharing lives together and walking hand-in-hand with one another. Small groups demonstrate unity, and it is the picture of the micro-church, where it comes together to represent the Church of Jesus Christ. It is through discipleship in small groups that we can evangelize and welcome others to Christ.
A small group is a people who commit to discipleship and growing together in Love. The primary foundational activities are recorded in Acts 2:42. Specifically, the core activities include:
- Reading and reflecting on Scriptures ("devoting to apostle's teachings")
- Continual sharing of lives, open dialogue, life-on-life walking together ("fellowship")
- Eating together, recognizing that we are all loved by God, no class differentiation ("sharing in meals")
- Prayer
If you are not part of a small group, we encourage you to join one.

A small group is self-directed and consists of three or more similar Christians in proximity to each other who personally seek to grow closer to Christ and are willing to share their lives together (Our Highest Calling, p. 108).
Discipleship is a relationship between individuals that is cultivated over time with the intent to know God more. (Our Highest Calling, p. 36)
