(Heb. ʿiwwâ)

A Syrian city-state among those captured by the Assyrians in the 8th century b.c.e. (2 Kgs. 18:34; 19:13; Isa. 37:13). It may be the same as Avva (2 Kgs. 17:24), residents of which the Assyrians uprooted and settled in Samaria after the defeat of the northern kingdom.

Prayer Tents is a Christian mission organization that serves Christians around the world and their local bodies to make disciples ("evangelize") more effectively in their communities. Prayer Tents provides resources to enable Christians to form discipleship-focused small groups and make their gatherings known so that other "interested" people may participate and experience Christ in their midst.
